I first saw Ted McKenna playing drums in Greg Lake's band at Exeter University Great Hall in 1981. That band was, quite simply, phenomenal and featured the incredible Gary Moore on guitar! As I watched the band performing that amazing gig from the balcony, little did I know that  just a few years later I would be playing bass in Ted's band!

Here are some videos showing Ted McKenna's phenomenal  drumming! It was a great privilege for me to play bass in McKenna's Gold. In my opinion he was the best rock drummer in the world and the fact that I played bass in Ted McKenna's band means more to me than if I had played bass in ANY other band I can think of.

Ted passed away on the 19th of January 2019. He was my dear friend and like an older brother to me and I count it a great privilege to be the bass player of McKenna's Gold, the only band he ever had of his own. I'll never forget him ….
